Gunners lack creativity under pressure

Watching an English Premier League match on television has been a rare opportunity for me ever since I moved to Mangalore to pursue MCMS at St. Aloysius College. I usually make the most of the vacations at home. During this Christmas break I got the chance to watch the Arsenal versus Wolves match which ended in a draw and later also the 1-0 win over QPR. All those who watched the match against Wolves would agree with me when I say that the Gunners should have won by a big margin.

Well, getting to the point, what I felt about Arsenal from the two matches I got to see is that they lack creativity under pressure. Please correct me if I am wrong as my analysis are based on just the two matches I saw. In the game against Wolves, Gervinho beautifully put the North London side in front early in the match. Arsenal seemed fully in control and made some marvelous opening but failed to score. No sooner the Gunners conceded an unfortunate goal, things kinda changed.

In the second half, Arsene Wenger's men continued to keep ball possession. But they could hardly make anything out of that.  They seemed to use the same moves to initiate an attack i.e. running on the winning an crossing - to which Van Persie could hardly even leap onto. It was a chance for Arsenal to leapfrog Chelsea in the league table. With the pressure of the fear of losing out on the opportunity, Arsenal seemed running short of ideas. Probably they miss the creativity that Cesc Fabregas use to provide in the midfield.
